In the space between the first game and the second game Jackie learns how to bottle up The Darkness, so it can never manipulate him again, like when it did when he watched his girlfriend get killed. So it ends with Jackie at the end with the full power of The Darkness and furious. In the first game Jackie saw his girlfriend get killed in front of him, he had The Darkness really try to manipulate him and he ended up having to kill his uncle - the head of the Mafia - while a bunch of the other Mafia guys were saying "Hey, we think you should run this after you get him." What can you tell us about the head space that main character, Jackie Estacado, is in? The Darkness II is set two years after the events of the first instalment.

If you know a lot about Top Cow and you know a lot about The Darkness, it's a lot more exciting. You get lots of little nods to other characters in the Top Cow universe. For the people who played the first game and read the comics, there's tons of stuff. So it's a lot richer if you played the first game: you know who the people are soon as they show up. A lot of the characters that survived the first game are back and you are experiencing the story in the same world. We were really strict about making sure we stuck to all of the story parts of the first game. If you played The Darkness One, there is perfect continuity. It will be an awesome story, it will be exciting to go through - beginning, middle, end. It is something that you can pick up without ever having heard of The Darkness before and it will make perfect sense. How will gamers feel about playing The Darkness II without playing the first?
